ADVISORY!

Coyotes Have Been Sighted in this Area

CALL 911 to report an aggressive coyote or coyote attack

Be Prepared: 

  • Carry a stick, noise maker, or whistle 
  • Walk with a partner
  • Have something to throw

If Approached by Coyote: 

  • Do not run or turn your back
  • Yell, use your noise maker, or blow your whistle 
  • Wave your arms and throw objects
  • Face the coyote and back away slowly
  • In the unlikely event of a coyote attack, fight back and yell to attract help

Prevent Coyote Conflict: 

  • Do not feed or approach coyotes
  • Keep pets on a leash
  • Closely monitor children
  • Avoid areas with heavy brush and thick vegetated areas
  • Use extra caution from dusk to dawn
